Melting Vinyl presents Patrick Watson

With the Canadian equivalent of the Mercury Prize, the Polaris, in their back pockets - and yes it is their pockets; lead singer Patrick Watson strangely enough called his band Patrick Watson - this group of young men now have the rubber stamp of quality they have deserved since their career defining second album, Close To Paradise. Led by the falsetto, multi-layered vocals of Watson, which have spurned healthy comparisons that lie in the nooks and crannies between Devendra Banhart and Sufjan Stevens, this is a remarkable opportunity to catch them in this, the most beautiful of settings.“Mixing the grimy booze-sodden blues of Tom Waits, the woozy widescreen drama of Portishead, the moody piano-bothering of Debussy and above all Watson’s mercurial vocals, which are evocative of – and this isn’t a comparison to be made lightly – Jeff Buckley.” NME

Margot’s parties are back!

First seen at the Hanbury in 1999 when the place was a mere dusty function room seldom used for anything other than the odd wedding reception and 21st, Margot’s was instrumental in putting the venue on the map as the perfect place for decadence, dancing and entertainment. With their inimitable mix of kitsch caper meets glam sandwich, Margot’s provides dj-led entertainment for a dressed up occasion with a with a tongue in cheek twist

The parties command a glamorous, imaginative dress code inspired by a theme - previous parties have seen the neighbourhood awash with bordello belles and bandits, dirty detectives, corsets, court shoes and curler-clad housewives.

Frank Turner plus Andy Yorke and Ciara H
"I used to be in Million Dead you know... It was a lot of fun for four years, and then we broke up, which was a real shame. In the aftermath of years of touring in a hardcore band, ears still ringing, I decided that I wanted to try my hand at the lighter end of my music taste for a while, and follow up my love of all things folk / acoustic / country.

And maybe along the way show that it is possible to write simple acoustic music without sounding like james blunt, and whilst retaining some passion, anger, and a sense of humour."

Signed to Xtra Mile Recordings, Frank releases his next album Love Ire & Song on March 31st 2008.
